Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health Announces its Q2 grantees

Parkersburg, W.Va. (July 19, 2024) Officials from the Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health today announced its second quarter grant funding to West Virginia-based nonprofit organizations. These grants support programs and initiatives that benefit the state's residents in the focus areas of oral health, community health, and family health.
These grants approved in the Fund's second meeting of 2024 bring the total funds committed to more than $1,000,000 dollars so far this year:
- Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County
- Heart and Hand Outreach Ministries
- Lily's Place Inc.
- Oglebay Foundation
- Read Aloud West Virginia
- Wing2Wing Foundation
- West Virginia Oral Health Coalition, Inc.
- Philanthropy West Virginia
- Vandalia Health Network
"These West Virginia-based nonprofit organizations do impactful work for our state's residents every single day," said Cathy McAlister, executive director of the Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health. "We're thrilled to partner with them on these initiatives that help improve the health and well-being of so many."
The Charitable Fund has awarded more than $6 million in grants to more than 100 organizations since its launch in 2021. These grants support programs that address Behavioral Health, Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), Oral Health, Substance Use Disorder, Community Health and Family Health.
